Sidhu Moose wala was shot dead one following day when the Punjab government pulled his security coverage. The police claimed Moose wala was wounded by bullets.

The Congress expressed its shock over the death of their chief and popular Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala in Mansa district on Sunday. Moose Wala was seriously injured after unknown gunmen opened fire at the singer.
The incident happened one day following the Punjab government’s removal of his security protection. Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known by the name Sidhu Moose Wala, was among the 424 whose security was removed from them by Punjab Police on Saturday.
The singer of 28 had signed up in the Congress group in December of last year. He had been a contestant for the Congress ticket for the Mansa assembly seat in the most recent assembly elections and was defeated by the AAP’s Vijay Singla.
“Deeply shocked and grieved over the tragic murder of promising Congress leader and artist Sidhu Moosewala. Heartfelt condolences to his family and his fans across the globe,” Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

“The death of Sidhu Moose Wala, Congress candidate from Punjab and a gifted musician was an utter unexpected shock for the Congress party and the whole nation. Congress president Jaiveer Shergill has said Sidhu Moose Wala was killed in “a shootout”.

In a separate tweet, he wrote “Since AAP has come to the powerhouse in Punjab the law enforcement has witnessed an overall decline: Broad-daylight murders, violent violence in Patiala Attacks by RPG at Punjab Police >Sidhu Moosewala Shot dead. Law & Order crumbling like cards in the AAP administration-Bhagwant Mann needs to react.”

BJP chief Manjinder Singh Sirsa hit out at the AAP government in Punjab for taking away security for several residents across the state. He then published the list in local newspapers, which makes them a clear attack.

A former Punjab Chief Minister along with Punjab Lok Congress leader Amarinder Singh has blasted the Bhagwant Mann-led administration of the state stating that “criminals have no fear of law”.
“Brutal death by Sidhu of Moosewala has shocked the world. My sincere condolences to the grieving family. The law and order system has totally disintegrated in Punjab. Criminals do not fear the law. @AAPPunjab government has miserably failed. There is no security within Punjab!” he tweeted.

Mann took to Twitter to express his condolences. Mann also offered condolences to the family and followers of the Moose Wala.

The deputy superintendent of Police (Mansa) Gobinder Singh told the news agency PTI that a number of bullets struck Moose Wala, who was in his jeep in the village Jawahar Ke when he was assaulted.
